Favorite Websites:
Gernot Katzer’s Spice Pages – A scientific look at world herbs and spices and the molecules that make them taste/smell good!
Diatoms in the Skagerrak-Kattegat – One of the first good diatom identification websites I found as a kid. They’re diatoms from halfway across the world, but I love them.
Common Macrolichens of the Pacific Northwest – What it says on the tin. Includes a multi-access key!
Scarecrow Video – Real live physical video rental, with a deep archive!! If you’re in the US, they also do rent-by-mail.
Decker – A super cool HyperCard like program for fun creativity! Check out some of the works in the most recent Decker Jam.
Washingon State DOH Respiratory Illness Data Dashboard – COVID wastewater reporting. I recommend the “Facility Trends” tab to give a better idea of case scale.
